Philip Bouwer

Philip Bouwer is uniquely experienced in having exposure at a Senior Executive level to a number of diverse and dynamic industries. Having trained as an attorney and practiced with Arthur Andersen as a Tax and Business Law consultant he has subsequently been exposed at a senior executive level to the manufacturing industry, the travel and tourism industry, information technology and new media, retail, renewable energy, the carbon economy and financial services. Through this broad business exposure he has established an excellent rapport with a network of senior executives and colleagues in a diverse set of local and international industries.
As both a business owner and corporate executive, he has developed and furthered an entrepreneurial self-starter spirit that is well tempered by an acute sense of responsibility and corporate governance and accountability. With an emphasis on profitability and service excellence Mr Bouwer has established a reputation for his ability to harness his exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills and astute strategic thinking to motivate and direct senior management teams to initiate, manage, and achieve successful financial goal setting and delivery in companies experiencing rapid growth or transformation. His application of these skills in the growing environmental financial marketplace is a natural progression and platform for the convergence of his talents.
Asogan Moodaly
MEng (UJ), Pr. Eng (ECSA), MBA
Asogan Moodaly has a wealth of experience in project development, and has gained substantial experience in the business and engineering tracks of various capital projects. Asogan commenced work at Sasol Technology as a mechanical engineer and worked on several notable multi-billion Rand projects such as the Sasolburg Natural Gas Reforming Project, Sasol Qatar Gas-to-Liquids Project and the Sasol Biodiesel Project, through the various phases of project execution such as Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Construction and Commissioning.
He subsequently moved to Sasol Technology New Business Development and gained competencies in capital project business case development, which included the compilation of pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies and financial modeling with a focus on Bioethanol. Asogan eventually joined the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (“IDC”) where he was fully engaged in the development of the IDC’s priority Bioethanol projects. It was at the IDC that Asogan gained detailed experience in the commercial aspects of capital project development which included engaging and negotiating with stakeholders such as Government, the South African Petroleum Industry Association (“SAPIA”) members, funding and agricultural concerns while still leveraging and honing previously acquired skills. Asogan was a key driver in assisting the various Government departments such as the Department of Energy (“DoE”) and Department of Trade and Industry (“DTI”) in implementing the mechanisms, support and legislation required to kick start the biofuels industry in South Africa; and was a vital working member of the South African Biofuels Task Team.
As a champion of the biofuels industry in South Africa, Asogan has established an outstanding reputation for commitment and perseverance in a fledgling industry. His excellent interpersonal skills, hard work and patience has allowed Asogan to develop substantial networks with all stakeholders of the liquid fuels industries including Government and SAPIA. His knowledge, experience and skills will be further applied in developing, sustaining and further growing the infant biofuels industry in South Africa.
Leo van Niel
BSc. (Chem. Eng.) MSc. MBA
Leo van Neil is the Managing Director of Lampets Technology, and serves as the Technical Advisor to Mabele Fuels. He has more than 30 years’ experience of fermentation and distillation processes to produce alcohol and alcohol derivatives. In combination with this he also has project development, project management and implementation experience of a similar period. Leo has been instrumental in the execution of the following of projects;
- Ethanol distilleries Molasses and Grain (Germiston, Umgeni, Zimbabwe), Conceptual, detail designs, construction and commissioning (Neutral spirit (Potable)and absolute alcohol)
- Suprachem Naphthalene distillation plant.
Process simulation, design and commissioning of revamped plant producing CTN, Naphtahlene and NSR - SHDA (Sodiumhydrogen diacetate)
- MCA Plant and (Distillation)
- Ethyl acetate Plant
