Health & Safety
Health and Safety is paramount during the construction and the future functioning of the Bothaville plant. The project managers and project leaders will liaise directly with the EPC Contractors to review design and engineering documents, monitor procurement processes, witness construction activities, and audit the implementation of Quality Procedures. They will also ensure the follow-up of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Plans and Procedures.
With CHMC as the Bothaville plant constructors, health and safety is key. Stability of safety in construction, providing safe and high quality products and ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees, are essential areas of focus for CHMC. During the lengthily procedure of construction as well as project management, CHMC has an integrated and sophisticated safety management system which includes responsibility for safety in production, major accident prevention and control, safety input, safety education, safety management, safety supervision, safety assessment and a system of employee rewards and penalties.
For a construction site such as the Bothaville plant, CHMC will arrange experienced and capable personnel to identify all the potential risks up front and structure a health and safety management proposal. The following factors are addressed:
- Safety education and training
- Environmental management and risk assessment
- Regular health and safety checks
- Project site waste management
- Emergency response action plan
- Investigating, reporting and implementing of the necessary precautionary measures
Years of construction management and safety training have helped CHMC have a group of qualified safety-management staff with considerable experience and capabilities, and a number of well skilled operators with a strong sense of safety.
